What we check
- The signer: the name from the trusted signature data or from the certificate. PESEL numbers are never shown.
- The type of signature: trusted (Profil Zaufany), personal (e-ID card), qualified or another electronic signature.
- The signing time recorded in the file.
- Whether the document has been changed since it was signed.
- Whether the signature is cryptographically valid, when that can be checked.
What we don't check
We don't check whether the certificate was valid and not revoked at the time of signing (trust chain, CRL, OCSP), so the result is for information only. For a formal validation, use the tools of a qualified trust service provider.
What the results mean
- “The document has not been changed”: the content matches the signature.
- “The content doesn't match the signature”: the file was changed after signing, or it is damaged.
- “Couldn't check”: the file uses a construction we don't support. That doesn't mean the signature is invalid.
