Where do .xades files come from?
In Poland, offices, courts and companies send electronically signed letters through e-Delivery (e-Doręczenia), ePUAP or email. They are signed with a trusted signature (Profil Zaufany), a personal signature (e-ID card) or a qualified signature, and arrive as .xades or .xml files.

What is a .xades file?
A document signed electronically. Inside is the actual letter, usually a PDF, together with the signature.
Do I need to install anything?
No. A browser is enough, such as Chrome, Safari or Firefox, on your phone or your computer.
Will anyone see my document?
No. The file opens only on your device and is never sent anywhere.
I have two files, a PDF and a .xades. What now?
That's a signature in a separate file. Choose the .xades file, then add the PDF, and we'll check that they match.
Can I check a signed PDF?
Yes. Choose the PDF and we'll show who signed it and whether it has been changed since (PAdES).
